The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster at Disney World in Florida might just be the easiest way for people to pass kidney stones painlessly says an article posted on Live Science
According to the article, researchers conducted a study, now published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, and noticed that several of their patients reported that they passed the kidney stones right after the roller coaster ride.
As we know, the process of passing kidney stones, which are hard masses of mineral formed in kidney, is a really painful job; especially if the kidney stones are larger in size. But this ride seems to help pass smaller stones easily without too much pain, finds the study.
The ingenious test used 3D model of kidney with kidney stones and some urine, which were concealed and taken by the researchers on the roller coaster. Different positions, parts of kidneys and sizes of the stones were used in the experiment.
Researcher found strong correlation between seating position in roller coaster and successful kidney stone removal irrespective of the size and location of the stone. Researchers, when seated in the rear part of the rollercoaster, found that kidney stones passed almost 64% of the time. For those who sat in front, stone passed only 17% of the time. So choose your seat carefully if you have any such hidden agenda for your next trip to Disneyland.
