Gender Neutral Or Gender Biased-Call for Action..So He Did It!!

During our early inception days , working on SoHeDid project/idea (we are still working 🙂 to make #SoHeDid start doing walk the talk), whenever we use to talk, share ideas, discuss about why we should be doing that we want to do? we were always greeted (not really) with those early (and intermittent) frazzling questions filled with lot of inquisitiveness by our small team, friends & family and mentors. We want to Thank all for being a great Devil’s Advocate” and for giving us our “Call for Action”, an opportunity to revisit our stand for So He Did, discuss and consider everything we want to do in greater details.

“No matter where you are from your dreams are valid.”

― Lupita Nyong’o

Going back in time, flipping through those numerous discussions, kill an idea sessions, what if sessions that we have had, what we found that, that one question has always haunted us was “Who we are; gender neutral or gender biased?” in different forms, shapes and sizes :-).

Let’s look at some of the versions in no specific order, paraphrased as it comes in my mind while writing our first post in Founder’s Desk category.

Why do this only for men?? It’s kind of favoring and typecasting.

Why man-focused? You guys seem to be gender biased?

Why make it exclusive for men, do you mean to convey/or say that anyone else cannot visit this site, get registered, contribute or be part of So He Did movement?

Deep within our heart and senses, we know that, we are not gender biased (Yes we are exclusive) and platonically believe in gender neutrality, but the truth is no one can read mind, feel intention and sense senses. Even in the broad day light, the best motives and greatest intentions, if not supported by right behavior and actions can be easily misunderstood, misinterpreted and misrepresented

We are very passionate about So He Did and what it intends to bring to the society. Like everyone else we would not want our passion and underlying intention to be misunderstood, misinterpreted and worst misrepresented (If not understood…Of course).

So here we are, to share our take on So He Did and message we want you to take, in a manner that it answers your curiosity once and for all in a way so that it doesn’t look like….okay…sounds like we are…

  1. Leaving it up to you….think whatever you want and we are what we are….who cares kind of approach…nope, we are Man’s Man
  2. Over convincing
  3. Preaching
  4. Teaching
  5. Pushing

Our creative team (yup…You guys are smart 🙂 and you already know that we don’t have a big team by now…just couple of people wearing multiple hats, playing multiple roles and living their passion) quickly understood what was needed and came into action. They thought to come up with great write up, full of quotes and definition, thinking that once compiled in the form of nice story could possibly convey our “Right Intention” and would put our point across but again, we wanted to keep it simple (See above SoHeDid Rules) . We wanted to speak in a language everyone can understand.

“I think there is a song out there to describe just about any situation.”

― Criss Jami , Killosophy

And you know what, after all the discussion, brainstorming, our Eureka moment surfaced when one of our Archimedes was humming this awesome song and we realized, this song says it all and support our philosophy in a language we all understand….and exactly says it all.

This is a mans world
This is a mans world
But it would be nothing, nothing
Without a women or a girl

You see, man made the car
To take us over the road
Man made the train
To carry the heavy load
Man made the electrolight
To take us out of the dark
Man made the boat full of water
Like noah made the arc

This is a mans, mans, mans world
But it would be nothing, nothing
Without a women or a girl

Man thinks about little bit of baby girls and a baby boys
Man make them happy
Cos man make them toys
And after man make everything
Everything he can
You know that man makes money
To buy from other man

This is a mans world
But it would be nothing, nothing
Not one little thing
Without a women or a girl

He’s lost in the wilderness
He’s lost in bitterness
